Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I wondered if I could take a moment to ask for your help.

In March 2012, my father Neville (or Bunny to those who knew him well) was diagnosed with cerebral astrocytoma, a rare tumour that develops in brain cells. Once diagnosed, I saw my father, a once healthy, working and sociable man deteriorate to the point that he was unable to do anything for himself or recognise the presence of those around him. Such was the severity of his illness, no treatment available was able to help him. It was heartbreaking. He died October 5th 2012 and there has not been a day since that I have not missed him, prayed and wished to see him again.

I was unable to help my father but in his memory and with your help, I would like to support those who are focussed in finding a cure for those inflicted by the same devastating illness. The Brain Tumour Charity dedicate all their energy into raising funds for world class research into discovering new treatments to help fight this disease. They raise awareness of brain tumours actively campaigning to reduce diagnosis times and provide a wealth of information for all who are affected by a brain tumour whether directly or indirectly.

I would like to do what I can to support this incredible charity by running the London Bupa 10 000 on May 27th and I would be so grateful if you were able to do so with me too by donating a small sum. I promise to run as hard and fast as possible. I want to kick this illness where it hurts and would love your help.

Thank you for reading :)
