Story
I was diagnosed in November 2016 with bi lateral breast cancer , I had two different types of cancer , one being triple negative, I firmly believe it is only through cancer research that I am still here now to tell the tale so I want to do everything I can to raise funds for research and awareness of signs and symptoms as well as hopefully giving hope to newly diagnosed patients .
Next year I will be 60 a huge milestone I may not have made given my diagnosis , I feel I have been given a second chance at life and so in the run up to that big birthday I am starting my 60 things to do before I’m 60 ! Already on the list is getting married ( done ✔️) and seeing the adult panto at the Mercury Colchester ( ✔️) I’m also looking to hold a tarantula ( terrified of spiders ) a snake ( again terrified ) abseil ( again terrified) so up at the 02 etc etc etc please keep following my page to see when I’ve ticked things off and please sponsor me !
I will also be chairing this years relay for life Colchester as well as taking part in my team for 24hrs …..
Relay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising to make breakthroughs happen. Across the UK and the globe, teams of friends and family fundraise for world-leading cancer research. Then, we unite as a collective at a weekend-long festival to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress we’re making. Together, we remember loved ones and celebrate the tomorrow’s made possible. Together we are beating cancer. How does the money you raise make a difference? When you fundraise for Relay For Life, we fund long-term research. And when we fund long-term research, we make more discoveries. Over time, these discoveries make giant strides towards a world where everyone lives longer, better lives free from the fear of cancer.
