Story

Last summer my sons great friend  Matt Gilbert died of testicular cancer,he was just 19 years old.
Throughout his illness Matt remained positive and cheerful. He underwent several rounds of chemotherapy and spent many weeks in Derriford Hospital undergoing this treatment

.He started his own JustGiving page and raised many thousands of pounds through the sale of his book The Gilbert Collection.

Matts mum Sharon who is also a nurse at Derriford and his Dad Tim are now raising money to improve facilities for Teenagers and young Adult patients.
They feel that whilst Matt underwent excellent clinical care, his quality of life could have been enhanced with age appropriate company and facilities similar to those afforded to children or the elderly.
They are working in conjunction with The Teenage Cancer Trust to provide these much needed facilities ,so I am asking -if you have a teenager or young adult in your life or if you ever were one, please donate whatever you can-no amount is too small and you would be helping a young persons recovery in a way that clinical care cannot.
