Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Couple of months ago, I applied for a volunteer position with the government funded programme, ICS (International Citizen Service) programme. The opportunity allows individuals, aged between 18-25, to travel to developing countries and help with various issues that need to be tackled; ranging from healthcare, to employment, to women's rights. These are important issues that need to be addressed: and it is our duty as citizens, belonging to a global community, to help those in crisis.
ICS works in collaboration with various charities to provide aid in many countries, supporting the range of causes dedicated to the needs of the countries.
My aim, before volunteering in a designated country, is to fund raise £800. The money raised goes towards the charity Restless Development, whose most recent achievment includes working with the emergency response team in Sierra Leone to erradicate Ebola in the distract of Pujehan. Restless Development, aims to raise awareness about, healthcare, hygiene and prevention of diseases. They also educate the youths about their human rights. In addition they tackle poverty by holding CV and interview workshops. These are small steps to a positive development.
