Story
Thanks for visiting. Like many last summer I was glued to the TV while The Olympics were on. The dedication and focus of the athletes inspired me to set myself the challenge of joining world-class athletes in a run. That meant only one thing - entering a marathon! At the same time, reading the story of young Shin Dong-Hyuk, a North Korean born in a "Total Control Zone" Labour Camp deeply affected me. He ran/walked/hitched over 700km after becoming the only known person to escape from such a camp, to reach relative freedom in China. His story is told in "Escape from Camp 14".
CSW works via advocacy which is used to influence the legislation, policies, attitudes and behaviours which reinforce religious discriination and persecution. They are a Christian organisation and help Christians like Shin but also other groups of persecuted religious minorities. Money raised would go towards funding their advocacy work in the UK, Brussels and Washington DC. You can read more here: http://www.csw.org.uk/aboutus.htm
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please give what you can to support a very worthy cause. Thank you.
