Story
In August 2020 I completed my first fundraising event, supporting the Northwick Park Neonatal Unit, by running 10km, just as the Covid-19 pandemic started to take its toll on our health care system. Two years on, looking at the harsh effects of Covid-19 on the NHS, I have decided to try to help again in my own small way. This time I will be running a half marathon to raise funds for a cause I am still very passionate about.
My twin boys Ahaan and Aarin were born prematurely at just 26 weeks, weighing a tiny 848g and 852g. They spent a total of 91 days in
three different hospitals, a journey that showed us what little fighters they are! They have done amazingly well and I am forever grateful to the wonderful NHS doctors and nurses who helped us bring our babies home. I continue to celebrate their strength, endurance and fight for life which was all made possible because of the remarkable support of the NHS neonatal units.
I will be raising funds for the Northwick Park Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Being amongst the worst affected hospitals in London during the pandemic, the hospital has faced some major challenges. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit continues with determination to ensure their vulnerable, premature and sick babies remain safe and protected, whilst also providing support for their families during what is probably one of the toughest times in their lives. Any extra funding will help the unit deliver the ongoing care to their babies and their families.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. If you are able to contribute any donation would be greatly appreciated and used to help those tiny preemie babies born too soon or those that require specialist medical care at birth.
