Story
5 years ago, I was awaiting surgery so I could start my training for the Derby half marathon for Treetops hospice, which I did in June 2018. I haven’t really ran since.
Over the last year, I have been on a physio and weight loss journey and now want to step it up a gear and get back into my running to improve my fitness and tone up.
Last night I signed up for the Derby 10k on 26th March 2023 to raise money for Treetops again, and this morning, despite the wind and rain, I went for my first run in training for it and felt very positive doing it! 💪🏼
I am feeling strong and motivated so far and have started early in an attempt to avoid falling into the “New year, new me” trap! But I am asking for your support!
One night of hospice at home care provided by Treetops, costs £108, and this is the target they set us to fundraise, HOWEVER, I have doubled my target to £216 as I hope this is achievable.
I am very aware there is currently a cost of living crisis, but any help at all will be very gratefully received and TBH just words of support and encouragement are appreciated.
I’m hoping to attach the link for my just giving page, but if you want to donate in another way, please get in touch 🙂
