Sheridan’s story-
In the early months of 2017, my dad was very unwell. After going to the doctors because of experiencing severe headaches and dizziness he was sent to get some scans done. These scans came to show a shadow in his brain which was later discovered to be a tumour that required urgent surgery.
In March 2017, he went through major brain surgery, where the surgeons removed what they could and sent it off for a biopsy. Unfortunately, this biopsy came back with a diagnosis of Brain Cancer.
A little background on my dad.. He has two daughters, myself and Kym, and a wife called Helen. He used to be a triathlete and took part in many Mud and Wolf Runs. He shared his passion for fitness with my sister, Kym, whereas our shared passion is music, and he helped me learn guitar - which i am forever thankful for!
Unfortunately, the type of tumour he has is a Glioblastoma. Glioblastoma's are Grade 4, very fast growing and incurable. This means he has to be on Chemotherapy continuously to try and slow down the growth.
I can't imagine how scary it must have been for him to go from being fit and healthy without a care in the world to undergoing major surgery and having to take it easy.
So with this in mind, when Emily said she was going to do a Skydive and raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity, I didn't hesitate in getting involved. So we have set up this page in hopes to raise a minimum of £900!
