Story
Finley was born 7 weeks early at Bedford Hospital and spent 18 days on the neonatal ward and during the pandemic charities have been hit hard, so we wanted to do something to help and give something back.
Bedford hospital gave us the best care and support during what was a very difficult time and have a bliss volunter that can help listen and point you in the right direction.
For us this was a very emotional time with lots of questions and unknowns but the website helps and I know I used it on many occasion.
So I am going to run/walk 100 miles in August/September and Tim is going to amazingly run 27 miles from home to Bedford Neonatal ward and back at the end of September, this is because on average parents travel 27 miles to see their babies and sometimes over 100 miles. We were lucky as we didn't have to travel that far.
Every 5 minutes, a baby is admitted to neonatal care in the UK.Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. They rely on donations to fund their work, and without our help they won't be able to reach the 100,000 babies needing neonatal care each year.Your donation to my page will help Bliss to drive improvements in neonatal care, to ensure that the needs of babies are at the heart of policy and planning for the future, and to provide information and support to all families with a baby born premature or sick.
