Story
My Mum lived independently until the age of 89, 2 years before she died from Vascular Dementia. Her life was one well lived as a Wife, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Aunty, God-Mother, Dog Lover, champion of those who needed help, devoted Grandma and we were proud of her.
Mum was a volunteer at a hospice well into her 80's and raised lots of money for various charities throughout the years and I feel it's my turn to do something in her memory.
I've entered the Lake District Challenge to run..stagger..51KM in June 2020, the target of £2018.00 is inspired by the year Mum died and I hope to realise this aim. If you can help, every single pound will make a difference and as below The Alzheimer's Society certainly need it.
Thank you for visiting this page and considering to support what may prove to be foolhardy. I don't expect to be quick and I expect it to be painful, much like our experience of Vascular Dementia but I do plan to complete the challenge. X
The Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
