Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I know with all the pulls on money, time and resource that people may be feeling squeezed so I appreciate you stopping by.
I run because it gives me space and helps me think and dream and notice things I wouldn’t normally see. It reminds me I’m part of something bigger. Last year I decided to raise money for Roy Castle’s Lung Cancer Foundation by running the Great North Run when my dad had lung cancer last year. The RCLCF do a fantastic job in researching, campaigning and supporting all those affected by lung cancer. If you have lungs you can get lung cancer. It’s the most common cancer in the world and the most common cancer death. But there’s lots we can do to help people along the way!
Dad tracked me on the Great North Run app last year. Sadly he won’t be on the app this year as he died last November in Bexley Wing, St James Hospital, Leeds.. Shortly after my amazing dad died I committed to running the London Marathon on 2nd October 2022 for this same charity. I didn’t put this page out there then as I didn’t want you to get sick of me saying it but now it’s time to go for it. I’m doing the Great North Run on 11th September too as my warm up and I’m joining Daisy my 5 year old on the mini North Run the day before. Let’s do something amazing together.
Look out for news on my progress and activities throughout September.
