Story
Duncan's amazing son Oliver has been attending Rainbows since it first opened and the support they have provided to our family, especially his grandparents over the years is something we will never be able to thank them for enough.
Oliver was diagnosed with degenerative brain disorder at 8 months old and was predicted a life expectancy of age 5. Incredibly, he has continued to defy all odds and is now fast approaching his 27th birthday. At the end of next year, he will be unable to attend Rainbows any longer as he will transition to adult respite support. As such, we wanted to do something in the run up to his last year at the hospice to recognise the incredible support we have received for so many years.
Rainbows is a place where children can laugh, play and make every precious moment count and Oliver has benefited so much from the many activities that the hospice provides. From pat dog therapy, music lessons, swimming and fun days out with his friends. He has even made it into the local papers and met the odd celebrity too!
The level of care, respite, family support and advice we have all received from the team is hard to put into words. They are some of the most selfless, dedicated and caring people we have ever met and they have truly helped us through some of our toughest times as a family with Oliver's complex health needs.
Please give what you can to help us support this amazing cause - thank you
