Story

As many of you know after losing my husband Andy in 2019, I decided to run the London Marathon in 2020.

Running helped with dealing with grief and bereavment.

Due to covid this was cancelled in April 2020, I then got another place in October 2021 which was once again cancelled.  I now have my confirmed place for Sunday 2nd October 2022.

The reason for selecting to raise necessary funds for The National Deaf Childrens Society was that my Mum lost her hearing aged 7 years old.  My Mum lost out on opportunties growing up and her adultlife and is particularly sad regarding lost opportunities and her education.

Having a disability should never hold anyone back, as we all have the right to live our best lives.  I hope by raising funds to help the NDCS I can make a difference to a deaf childs life.

Update:- after strugling with my calf during the race I managed to finish in 7 hours and 11 mins.  I can actually say I completed the London Marathon and my first marathon aged 53 :)

Thank you all so much for you donations, so very, very kind of you.
