Story
Dear Friends,
Sorry to tell you, but at nearly 79 years old, I can still run!
I’m ready to do another 10K in memory of my Matthew.
Camp is one of my favorite Easterseals’ programs. My first volunteer
job was at a playground behind my house in Revere.
It was a day camp for kids with disabilities.
I was just 13. It was the start of a lifetime passion and a career.
Back in the 70’s and 80’s, I was Easterseals’ Day Camp Director and Kirk and I oversaw the overnight camps. We even spent part of our honeymoon at camp.
Since the 70s, I’ve worked many jobs in disability services, but my fondest memories are from Camp.
I’m excited that Easterseals has opened the Bridge Center in Bridgewater. They started a school vacation day camp this month. Therapeutic horseback riding, youth leadership retreats and many other exciting programs are in the works.
And, with your support, the Matthew V. Joslin Fund will be there to help more people participate!
Thanks for your support. Fundraising is definitely not my thing! But the work I’ve been a part of gives me the courage to ask for support one more time.
Any support you can give will be most appreciated and well used.
Love,
Sheila
