Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Mum was diagnosed with Cancer in June last year and we were all optimistic that she would make it through the treatment. Tragically mum lost her battle with Cancer on 11th November 2013. It came as a complete shock to us all. Mum was always very fit and active and always gave 100% in everything she undertook.
Our reasons for running the Half Marathon and raising funds for Macmillan are simple. We are running in memory of our Mum. Raising funds for Macmillan is our way of saying thank you for the wonderful people who looked after mum at the Northern General Macmillan Care Unit. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we really cannot thank them enough.
She knew we were talking of entering the Marathon and I only wish she was here to see me and Michael complete the race.
Friend and colleague, Carl Sherwood has also signed up to run the race and raise funds on behalf of the Macmillan Charity. On behalf of us all thank you Carl.
The Sheffield Half Marathon takes place on 6th April 2014. We hope you feel like we do and want to show your support for such a fantastic charity. Please feel free to come along on the day and show your support.
