Story
WE DID IT!! Steve and myself completed the 100K Nightrider Event on Saturday night. It was a great experience riding round London through the night - dodging buses, pot holes, late night revelers, foxes and taking in all the sights. We had perfect conditions and padded shorts and we were really truly spurred on by all the amazing support shown to us by everyone who has donated for a great charity Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent House Hospice and we are so so grateful and that made it all worth while......thank you, WE ALL DID IT, in Emma's memory. Thank you so so much to everyone who supported us with kind wishes, messages and donations.
Why we took on the challenge:
Emma Daly nee Campbell sadly lost her life in January to cervical cancer, aged 40. Emma's cancer progressed quickly and it became evident that her battle could very sadly not be won. Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice were there to care and support Emma when she needed them most without question or delay. For this I am thankful and want to help to ensure the service is available to others who may find themselves in a similar situation.
Emma was my half sister and in her memory myself and Steve will cycle 100 km through the night around the streets of London, on 11th/12 June 2022 on #notyourusualnightout cycle event to raise funds for the much needed Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading. If you are able and would like to make a donation towards our target, that would be great and we thank you!
