UPDATE - Saturday 27th Feb
All completed - 60 miles+ and still walking with 1 more day to go!
Thank you to everyone who has kept me company over the last couple of weeks and for all the generous donations to The Pepper Foundation
As I approach my 60th birthday and prepare for 'retirement' (yes I know nobody believes I am actually retiring - not even me!) I had planned a wild party to mark the occasion. However Covid-19 has put the kibosh on that plan. So what else can I do?
Well, as you know I love to walk (never run!), especially with my companion, Juno, and given that walking is just about the only thing I am able to do legitimately at the moment, I have decided to combine this activity with a charity fundraising event to end my 59th year. I am therefore supporting The Pepper Foundation who are encouraging fundraisers to follow The Pepper Foundation 59 Challenge.
The Pepper Foundation helps to fund Hospice from Home care for children in the local area and currently funds the nursing care of 59 children in Bucks and Herts, hence the 59 challenge.
I will be walking at least 59 miles, between 15th February (last day of my 59th year) and the end of February. So, instead of any birthday gifts, I would really appreciate a small donation to The Pepper Foundation. I intend to walk every day, come rain or shine and anyone is welcome to join me (but only one at a time of course).
Thank you for your support x
