Story
As you might know I love driving my car. In fact, I drive to the gym to exercise and shed the excess pounds! But I have accepted a challenge to cycle 70 miles from London to Hastings - up and down hills, past lakes and valleys to eventually reach the historic town.
Now, why would I put myself through all this? Well, apart from the possible health benefits and stunning views, there is a good cause.
You see unlike most of us here in the UK, there are places around the world where people need to walk miles to get something as simple as drinking water or to see a doctor. And unlike you and I, this isn't a voluntary activity for them, rather a daily requirement for basic survival. I am cycling with the aim to raise funds to build a pre-school and community health centre in a remote area in the northern parts of Bangladesh.
So whether you sympathise with my cause or want to see me in pain (or both), dig deep and lets do our bit to participate in charity and help the less fortunate.
NB I've already signed up for the next challenge for the British Heart Foundation - London to Brighton ride in July!
Thank you
