Story

"Those who give charity night and day, secretly and publicly, receive their recompense from their Lord; They will have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve."~ Quran 2:274

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

"When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end, except THREE:

ONGOING Charity, BENEFICIAL Knowledge

...and RIGHTEOUS Offspring who will pray for him"~ Sahih Muslim

Peace and blessings to you all,

As you all know, Pakistan has recently suffered from the most horrific floods in which countless lives have been lost as well as people's livelihoods and homes destroyed. One transitional mud-brick home costs £450 and takes 3 weeks to build. The cost of a permanent concrete home starts from £950, and saves us having to rehouse families at a later date.

After witnessing the devastational effects on innocent people's lives, I am desperate to be part of the rebuilding and healing process in any way I can, and so I have decided to join Muslim Hands to go over to the worst hit areas and administer aid.As a female muslim screenwriter and creative producer, seeing and hearing the human stories, both tragedies and miracles, and being able to later write and produce a film which is a small drop in the ocean to rebuild hate~ torn bridges between the west and a country so badly misunderstood and crying for some human relief. Please CLICK the video links opposite for "Blood and Water",which both beautifully illustrate the phenomenal work Muslim Hands is doing, and I'm sure once you've watched it, you'll understand why I really need to be a part of this organisation.

Muslim Hands are doing such phenomenal work:having just returned from Pakistan, and visited the flood affected areas of Noeshara near the Peshawar in the  North West frontier province region, and Sukkur in Sindh, it is clear that the need for ongoing support is vital if we are to make the world a safer place for EVERYONE, and even a few pence or dollars can make a HUGE difference, believe me, so nobody's asking you to break your piggy bank!

Over the next couple of months, I will be raising funds to specifically aid widows and orphans, and inshallah, if I raise enough, in the last 10 days of march, will mountaineer and trekk across Jordan's desert, culminating in a pilgrimage to pray for those in need, and unable to attend themselves.

I have witnessed the remarkable work Muslim Hands are doing with my own eyes:whether it be regarding building new houses, setting up medical facilities, or creating academic centres of excellence for orphans, the needy and women's skills' development, so that they can have the dignity they richly deserve. It only takes a thought to help a person flourish, and have the opportunity to dream, just like anyone else....

A friend sent me this text the other day:

One day, a rich father took his son on a trip.He wanted to show him how poor someone can be.They spent time on the farm of a family of meagre means. On the way home, the father asked:

"Son, did you you see how poor they are?....What did you learn?"

The son replied:

"We have ONE dog................................they have FOUR

We have a POOL.................................. they have  RIVERS

We have LANTERNS at night.................they have STARS

 We BUY food..........................................they GROW theirs

We have WALLS to protect us................they have FRIENDS

We have ENCYCLOPAEDIAS..................they have the HOLY QURAN"

Then he added:

"Thanks Dad............................................ for showing me how POOR

                               WE ARE....."

Wherever possible, please donate just £20 and make a HUGE difference to someone else's life.....

"Many hands make LIGHT work", as they say..

Many hands............................................... make MUSLIM HANDS

May ALLAH reward you for your kind generosity.Thank you for your time,

                                     Shazi

PS. Please also google "The Interview with God" and "Pathways to Peace" presentations for a more soul~lifting, life~affirming boost.

Once again, thank you, God bless, Jazaa qallah khair....
