Story
The last year has been difficult for everyone and Shawn’s 50th Birthday provides a reason to celebrate and gather with friends and family we haven’t seen in over 14 months. Personally, we lost Shawn’s mom Linda, our dearest friend and mentor Alan, and our beloved little girl Ashes (Shawn’s “girlfriend”).
Ashes and our other four-legged friends and fosters have kept our family grounded during the pandemic. Everyone that knows Shawn, knows of his love for cars and animals, so unless you are delivering a new Porsche to his door please consider donating in his honor to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Why the MSPCA?
- In 2020 the MSPCA at Nevins farm took in 1,912 companion animals (which included 908 cats, 224 dogs) as well as 348 equine and farm animals. That’s a lot of animals!
- The MSPCA at Nevins Farm spayed/neutered 1,842 cats and dogs owned by the public – and kept those programs running during Covid when our community needed access to high quality/low-cost veterinary services even more than ever.
- The MSPCA’s 3 adoption centers take in companion and farm animals from a wide range of circumstances – and still achieve a live release rate of 91%. This is significant since the population of animals being brought to the MSPCA for rehoming are increasingly behaviorally and medically complex.
- The MSPCA’s Community Outreach team didn’t miss a beat during Covid and rose to the occasion; finding creative ways to support pet owners in our communities. One of those ways was delivering 1,210,294 pet meals to families in need and meeting 1,480 animals.
Please let your charitable donation in Shawn’s honor be your only presents. Can't wait to see you at his birthday celebration.
Thank you!
Lori, Bill, Marmie, Walter, Fozzie, Louis, Frannie Mae, Junior and Jeannie. (Not all ours, but those we feed)
PS. Donations will be matched up to 5000.00
