Story
To me, Acadia is a place of purity and fundamental goodness that is as solid as the pink granite mountains that rise and fall across this beautiful island. A few years ago, on January 1st, Sarah, Noah, Aliyah and I wrote on birch bark one thing that we wanted to carry with us from the previous year, one thing we wanted to let go, and one thing we hoped for in the year to come. Then we wandered along the Ocean Drive to find the perfect place to toss our birch bark prayers into the ocean. We took this photo before we let our birch bark fly.
I know Acadia has provided similar moments to countless people and for the past 34 years Friends of Acadia has played a huge part helping to preserve and protect this amazing place for current and future generations.
For the next week, all donations made to FOA will be matched 1:1 until we meet our goal of $25,000. If you value Acadia I hope you will join me in supporting Friends of Acadia. Thanks!
