Story
I DID IT! All my hair has been shaved off and will be donated to the Little Princess Trust. I love my new bald head! Thanks so much to everyone who has helped me raise money by doing this! You are incredible.
It is not too late to give to CAMFED through my fundraiser, so if you are shocked by my transformation -- please don't hesitate to help raise the amount even more!
NOTE: If you do not have a credit card, please send me a message on Facebook, Instagram, or Whatsapp. I am happy to help!
Many of you know me as the girl with the huge head of curls. When I reach my goal, I want to make a statement… by shaving it all off.
By giving up something I love, I hope that I can give other young girls something they really need – an education. This is very important to me; I want everyone to have the same chances I had as a young girl to learn and to build a future, to go to school without worrying about her safety.
Education provides girls with the skills and information that can help them get the opportunities they deserve. Around the world, more than 129 million girls between the ages of 6-17 are not in school. Gender inequality, poverty, child marriage, and gender-based violence are all causes. Keeping girls in school helps combat these circular problems. The risk of infant mortality and maternal mortality decreases, girls earn significantly more on average, and their education and success helps build a better community for everyone. Educating girls is essential to all of us.
All the donations collected from this fundraiser will go to CAMFED, an amazing organisation that supports girls and young women in impoverished districts in rural sub-Saharan Africa. They operate on a network of solidarity and collaboration between schools and communities, tackling these complicated problems from the ground up.
Your contributions will make a real difference to the lives of those girls, and if I know that my bald head has helped to support their education, I won’t regret it for one second.
