Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

On 6th May, I will be running in the 2013 Belfast Marathon in memory of my son, Adam Samuel Coey. Your generosity will be much appreciated to raise money for Horizon House Hospice that helped to care for Adam during his short life.

Adam spent much of his life in hospital and when we did get him home in late August 2008 he returned to hospital in early September. This was an incredibly difficult and daunting time for us as first time parents. We were so delighted to have Adam home; excited about starting a more normal family life and were disheartened at his return to hospital.

It was at this time the Hospice stepped in and helped us. From hospital Adam went to Horizon House. John and I stayed with Adam for ten days and enjoyed a 'home from home' experience with supportive and friendly staff. The facilities for Adam were exceptional with time spent in a multi sensory room, music and painting, hydropool, physiotherapy and massage sessions.

Thank you Horizon House for the lovely time that we shared with Adam at your wonderful haven and thanking you all in advance for any donations
