Story
In January of 2011, Lucy & Janice's dad, Gemma, Matthew & Sarah's grandad & my father in law Timmy, passed away.
Timmy had alzheimer's for a few years before he passed. I say 'had' & not 'suffered' as I don't think he suffered because he was unaware. We used the Alzheimer's soceity mainly for information. The Alzheimer's soceity help 25,000 people effected with this condition, but when you think:
There are currently 750,000 people with dementia in the UK
There are over 16,000 younger people with dementia in the UK
There will be over 1,000,000 people with dementia in the UK by 2021
60,000 deaths a year are attributed to dementia
Timmy was the funniest, kindest and most intelligent man i've ever met. We all miss hime so much. So in Timmy's name we are all going to do the 10k Memory Walk at Aintree Race Course on the 25th September, with all monies donated to the Alzheimer's Society. We know it's hard times for some people at the moment but if we can ask you to give what you can. Thank you, Shaun
