"Did you know that over 110,000 people in the UK have MS, with around 5000 newly diagnosed every year?"
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an auto-immune disease that for many people affected can prove life changing. I have worked for MS-UK as a Helpline and Information Officer since summer 2021 and have spoken to some incredible clients in such a short space of time, some stories are inspiring, many are heart rending. The good news is that there is support out there and that is where I believe MS-UK excels.
Our ethos as a charity is to provide vital support to people affected by MS. The services that we offer are varied and range from emotional support and access to information provided by our small Helpline team, MS specific Counselling which is the only one of its kind in the UK, to our increasingly popular and ever expanding online services. To summarise the latter we offer access to so many different therapeutic solutions, including exercise classes, chair yoga, mindfulness courses and our hugely successful Peer Support Service.
The demand on our resources is enormous and we really need your help to ensure that we can not only continue to provide these valuable services to people affected by MS, but to keep evolving and develop our services further. That is why I have decided to take part in the 100 mile Ride London Essex 2022 cycle ride, which in the scheme of things is a small sacrifice to make for such a worthy cause. The real heroes are the people I interact with every week whose lives have been turned upside down.
I know times are difficult for us all at the moment however just a small donation will go a long way. Whatever you donate I would like to thank you all in advance for your generosity.
