WHO AM I RAISING MONEY FOR?
I am raising much needed funds for St Andrew's Hospice in Lanarkshire. They are the only specialist hospive in Lanarkshire and they provide free care to terminally ill patients and their families. Running costs amount to £56,000 every week, raised through fundraising.
WHY AM I RAISING MONEY FOR THEM?
In 2005 St Andrew's Hospice provided excellent, compassionate care to my mum in the last week of her life. I have been raising money for them every year since then.
WHAT AM I GOING TO DO TO RAISE MONEY?
This year is going to be different, I want to make a massive difference and raise £1000. Now that is a big ask, especially in these hard times so I need to do something BIG! So I am doing several challenges over the course of the entire year.
*Run 3 x 10 km races. (Women's 10km -May, GSR-October, Strathaven -November)
*Run the Tom Scott Memorial Race 6km in April (Tom was my mum's big brother!)
*Walk St Andrew's Hospice Midnight Half Marathon Walk in June
*Climb Ben Nevis for St Andrew's Hospice
*Run at least 13 x 5km Parkruns (timed races)
*Lose at least 13kg in weight (2 stone)
By the end of 2013 I aim to have completed all of the above (and possibly more) and have raised £1000.
Now if you know me, you will know this will NOT be easy at all. I am no runner, I am unfit and overweight - BUT I am so determined to do these challenges that I have started training for them already. This is a huge committment for me and I ask, please can you spare even a few pounds to help?
