Many of you know that 2020 was the year I was undertaking a 30 mile swimming challenge to fundraise for Young Enterprise. . At the end of July, my final remaining swimming challenge was cancelled for safety reasons due to Covid.
So it led to me to thinking ..what would any YE CEO with an enterprising mindset do in this situation and I came up with this. A virtual Land End to John O Groats Walk. Yes all 980 miles of it! My aim is to complete between 50-60 miles a week walking around the Bolton area where I live each week until I complete the 980 mile distance.
At Young Enterprise, our fantastic team of volunteers and staff help young people (and the brilliant educators who support them), to build the enterprising mindset and critical skills needed to navigate a post Covid world of work. These opportunities help open doors they sometimes didn’t know were there and can transform futures. Sadly these opportunities are not available to all young people. In fact, regional inequalities are growing, and we are passionate about tackling them head on.
Over the next 3 years Young Enterprise wants to create and deliver 1 million financial and enterprise education opportunities for young people this will cost £16 million pounds.
Thank you so much for joining me on this journey and for any donation you are able to make. It is very much appreciated.
Best wishes
Sharon
