My Dad was a real gentleman and we loved him so very much.  He and mum are the reasons why we are who we are.  I cannot thank them enough and I miss Dad so much it is a physical pain.

Marie curie nurses came in and stayed with us overnight when Dad was dying.  Without them we would have gone under.  They made his last hours comfortable and cared for him with compassion, love and respect.  They supported the family and enabled my mum to get some sort of rest during the night so that she could cope during the day.

The MC nurses had their own stories and it was easy to see why they wanted to care for others. I have been told that there are not enough of them to support everyone who needs them, due to funding and this is a tragedy - it should be everyone's right to pass peacefully at home with those who love them.
