Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my justgiving page.
I am taking part in the Great North Run for the first time this year before I turn 50 and I am hoping to raise £500 for Willowburn Hospice.
Willowburn is a small local charity offering specialist palliative and end of life care to patients. It is particularly special to me and my family as my Dad Gordon attends their Day Hospice and In Patient unit for respite care on a rolling basis. As he is bed bound this gives him the chance to meet with other patients and socialise and also gives my Mam Gerry, who is his main care provider, much needed rest.
Willowburn needs £1.5 million a year to operate and 70% of this is raised by fundraising. Your donation would help to provide:
£20 - electricity for a day in the In Patient Unit
£50 - 2 weeks oxygen for a patient
£100 - 1 weeks food shopping
£150 - 3 weeks bereavement counselling for family members
£400 - a patient bed in the In Patient Unit for a day
£750 - pay for a staff nurse on the In Patient Unit for 1 month
If anyone could donate as little or as much as you can it will be much appreciated and help this fantastic charity to continue to provide specialist care.
