Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I have given myself the challenge of completing 3 races in 6 weeks. The Silverstone Half Marathon on the 2nd March. The Fleet Half Marathon on the 16th March. And finishing with the London Marathon on the 13th April.
All money raised will go to RP Fighting Blindness, the charity that is researching a cure for the many forms of Retinitis Pigmentosa. A charity very close to my heart as my boyfriend and his brother were both born with this condition.
Retinitis pigmentosa is the name given to a group of inherited conditions of the retina that all lead to a gradual progressive reduction in vision occuring over time. Difficulties with night vision and peripheral vision are the first things that are noticed. Later, reading vision, colour vision, and central vision are affected. The age at which symptoms start is variable and the rate of deterioration also often varies but is generally very slow with changes occuring over years rather than months.
The charity relies entirely on donations as it receives no public money to fund it's work and research. So any money you can donate will be of vital assistance and will go towards helping find a cure. Significant progress has been made in recent years but more funding is needed.
Please dig deep, and give anything you can afford. Literally, every penny counts.
Huge thanks in advance. I'll let you know how I get on in each race.
