After a routine mammogram, my sister, Maria was diagnosed with breast cancer.  The care and support she received from the Burton Breast Care unit was fantastic.  I was amazed at how Maria dealt with the diagnosis and just seemed to take everything in her stride.

When Maria felt well enough she decided she wanted to say 'thank you' to Burton Breast Care by way of fundraising and decided to compete in the London 2 Brighton 100k Walk Challenge.

I wanted to support Maria on her chosen challenge and what better way to do that than by agreeing to complete the challenge with her! So along with our other sister we signed up for what will be the biggest event challenge we have taken part in - the most we had done together was the local 'race for life'!

Along with the challenge itself, we have embarked on what will be a five month training programme to build up our fitness and endurance to give us the best chance of completing the challenge in the 33 hrs time allocation. Your support and donations will help keep me focused and motivated for what lies ahead until the big day on 24th May.
