When the word Hospice was first mentioned to me and my family we could not believe it.  I thought it would be somewhere old, cold and clinical, but the reality of it could not have been more different.  When we first arrived to see Dad all the nurses made us feel very welcome, Dad had his own room so we could all be alone.  It was the last chance for all 5 of us to be together and they helped us achieve that.  His room was sunny and yellow and it overlooked a garden.  We helped ourselves to tea and coffee whenever we wanted and spent as much time as we wanted with him.  We are very lucky to have this service in our area.
