Story
6 years ago I saw the true effect that meningitis can have on a person/family. Matt was one of my best friends, he was young (27), fit, healthy with an amazing wife (Michelle) and 3 wonderful girls (Holly, Phoebe & Frankie) when he was admitted to hospital with meningitis. He was strong, a gentle giant and fought so hard but unfortunately 4 days later he left us to be a super hero, saving the lives of at least 8 people by being an organ donor. He really was a legend, certainly one of a kind and he lived his very short life to the full. Everyone should be more 'Matt' always having a smile on his face, full of cheek wondering what mischief he could get into next. Michelle uses a quote "don't just do things to be average, do them to be legendary" that summed Matt up, so with that in mind I have kindly been offered a charity place in this year's London Landmarks half marathon with Meningitis Now. Pushing myself to be the best I can be, running to raise awareness and funds in memory of a true legend, my friend Matt💙🧡
