Fundraising for St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I'll be taking part in two events to fundraise for St Luke's. This is a really special place where my Dad was cared for with absolute compassion and respect in the final stages of his illness, almost 3 years ago. Dad had pancreatic cancer and at a time that was safely the most challenging of both his and our lives St Luke's was where we were all able to feel properly supported through every moment, and where we were able to make each moment really count.
On 28th June I'll be taking part in the 13.1 mile Midnight Walk in Nantwich and Crewe. This will be the 2nd time I've taken part in this event but this year will be particularly poignant as it falls on the anniversary of us losing Dad.
Later, on 2nd August, I'll be taking part in the 5k Run or Dye event at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire, which St Luke's are partnering and which promises to turn me into a "techni canvas of color" before I get to tie-dye the sky. YES REALLY...there's an image for you! Anyway, I think my Dad might have found the sight ever so slightly amusing and might just have roared with laughter, just a little, and that's what i intend to do too!
As is the case with so many places St Luke's is for the most part funded by charitable donations (72%). If you can donate, please do, every single penny will be hugely appreciated and will contribute to the £7,500 per day it costs to provide patient care at St Luke's.
Thank you!
Sharon
