This year I will be taking part in the Great North Run raising money for MY Hospitals Charity.

I previously was extremely overweight to the point that it was affecting my health in a very negative way.  I was told that if I didn't do something drastic to improve my health then I would not live a long life.  My GP referred my to the Mid Yorkshire Weight Management service and with the support and help given from doctors, dietician, nurses and psychologist I managed to qualify for weight loss surgery.  On 27th September 2022 I had my Sleeve Gastrectomy at Dewsbury District Hospital.  The care I received in hospital was fantastic, I cannot thank the nurses, theatre staff, anaesthetists and surgeon enough.  Since this time I have now lost over 8 stones and living a much healthier life.  Mid Yorkshire Hospitals gave me my life back, therefore I decided to give back and take part in the Great North Run to raise money for this excellent cause.  Thank you in advance for your support.
