Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
10 months ago Crohn's disease took our mum and our grams/greatgrams aged 65. she had worked hard all her life and had to retire as it was getting impossible to live a normal life, once retired she took a turn for the worse, she didn't get to enjoy one single day of her retirement. She was diagnosed with Crohn's/colitis in 2013 and suffered many flare ups causing her to be in and out of hospital in her final years. unfortunately they could not optimise her medications and her condition deteriorated, mum loved going abroad and always came away with us but had to stop the year before she died as she couldn't manage. Mum suffered from a rare complication of the disease mega toxic colon and this led to the development of sepsis. At this point the surgeon decided she was too ill for surgery and with no other treatment option, we had to sit in heartbreaking pain for days and nights knowing she was going to die. We would like to raise money and aid understanding of this debilitating condition.
We have join forces with Sammie who is raising money for Tiana Thompson who sadly died just after Christmas 2019 at such at young age from the same disease, we are hopeful this will maximise the funds raised for this charity. Thank you to Sammie who rang me to hire our facilities for her event and gave me the kick i needed to do something to raise awareness for the disease that took my mum too. xx
