Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We have chosen to raise money for the Prospect Hospice as
it’s a charity very close to our hearts. They provide the best possible end of life care to anyone, whenever and wherever they need it. We are running in memory of Sharon’s Dad, Anthony Turner, and Father in Law, Jack Baker. They both received excellent, compassionate, respectful and personalised care from the Prospect Hospice in their final weeks. This is a chance to give something back to ensure the hospice can continue to help others in the future.
Prospect Hospice is the only dedicated end of life care service for people living in Swindon, Marlborough and North East Wiltshire and
we’re sure almost every one of us knows someone who has been helped by them. Less than a third of their funding comes from statutory organisations like the NHS – the rest they need to raise themselves and, as is the case with all charities, they will have been
adversely affected in their fundraising efforts by the pandemic. They really do need our help now, more than ever!
This will be a huge challenge for us but one we are massively excited about! 26.2 miles is a very long way but we will put in the many training hours needed and are hoping to smash it on the day! Any donation you feel you are able to make will be hugely appreciated.
