Hello everyone, 

Recently, I discovered that the incredibly popular Chester Zoo is under financial strain due to the COVID-19 crisis, and are being threatened with indefinite closure. 

Myself and many others both local and from wider regions would be horrified to think that such a wonderful place, concerned only with the conservation of wildlife and protection of the beautiful animals they have in their care, would risk being closed forever because of the effects the terrible Coronavirus global pandemic has had. 

The zoo is a huge part of my own childhood and I'm sure the lives of many other children and adults alike. 

We need to ensure that we are doing everything we can to protect its future welfare. 

I'm going to be running a 5K around my local area in order to fundraise for the cause. Anyone who knows me will know I really enjoy both running and raising money for good causes, so this is the perfect way to generate financial success for such a wonderful place.
