Chuf's mission is to make life better for children and young people who are born with or who develop heart conditions by providing lifelong support to them and their families. Chuf supports children who receive treatment at Freeman Hospital and many other hospitals throughout the North of England.

Story

In April 2021, my wife and I were told that our son, Kit, had heart failure. He had to undergo a major operation to assess the damage to his heart.

The results were very scary; Kit was placed on a ventricle device whilst he waited for a heart transplant.

In August 2021, Kit received his 'gift' and has gone from strength to strength. Nearly a year has gone by and Kit is doing amazingly well. The CHUF charity will forever mean a great deal to our family. They supported us in many ways whilst we lived in parent accommodation at the Freeman Hospital for 5 months, as well as providing the Children's Ward with funds and vital equipment.

Kit's school are now holding a fun run in aid of CHUF and we would be immensely grateful for any donations.

Cheers, 🤙🏼
