Story
My name is Shannon and I am 12 years old. I am putting together a charity music evening on 30th September in Cannock. The event is to raise money for Birmingham Children's hospital and will be part of their #BigGig month. The aim is for musicians to get together and host events to raise money for the hospital.
My big sister has a condition called hydrocephalus, which was acquired from Meningitis and Septicaemia when she was 6 weeks old. She had to have a lot of brain surgery when she was little. Although, at the time, she lived in Manchester and had most of her treatment there, when she moved here, her care was transferred to the Birmingham Children's Hospital neurosurgical team. They looked after her until she was 18 this year. I am really passionate about raising money for this incredible charity/hospital.
I am a member of my school's Irish band called Clan na Gael and we will be playing on the night and we will have more local musicians too. There will be raffles and silent auctions also.
I hope to raise as much money for the children's hospital as the work that they do is incredible and I hope that people are kind enough to support me, as I have never organised something like this before!
If you are a musician or a band and would like to perform on the night then please get in touch - we would love you to come and join the fun!
Thank you in advance for your support. Your donation will go a long way in helping BCH continue their incredible work.
