Story
Hi everyone thank you for visiting our page.
On the 1st February our little boy Oscar was born. I had the perfect pregnancy no worries at all, I was induced as I was 2 weeks over my due date. After 2 days of being induced I finally had the opportunity to give birth to my boy when everything got all complicated. Oscar had shoulder dystocia he was stuck for 11 minutes meaning his brain was starved without oxygen. He was born not breathing and had to be resuscitated, everyones worst nightmare! He was rushed down to intensive care at City Hospital but got transferred to Heartlands Hospital for cooling treatment. The next 48 hours were critical for Oscar we as parents never knew if he would make it, it was the hardest thing of our lives! Oscar was diagnosed with HIE and possibly cerebral palsy. He was in Heartlands Hospital for total of 2 weeks were he had the best possibly care we could ask for. After the worst 2 weeks of our lives we got to take our little boy home such an amazing feeling. Oscar is our little superhero he has overcome so many obstacles already and we couldn’t be anymore prouder of him! He still continues to fight and we still have a long road ahead of us but we will try our hardest to make sure he has the best life.
Ellis (Oscars dad) and all of his 15 friends are trying to raise money for the intensive care unit at Heartlands Hospital. They will be trekking Aran mountains in Wales for a whole day on the 13th July. Just something little we can give back to them to show how thankful we are that we still have our little boy here with us today as if it wasn’t for them he wouldn’t be here.
We would really appreciate it if you could donate as much as you can to help raise as much money for the unit.
Thank you for reading our story,
Shannon, Ellis, Isla and Oscar
