Story
I am taking part in the BCM Walk on the 1st May 2022 on behalf of The RVH Liver Support Group. This is an 8 mile walk (Couldn't quite do the full 26 yet as much as I'd like too). 😂
On the 25th October 2021, my Dad recieved a liver transplant after being diagnosed with ESLD. Over the past few years, there has been many setbacks and it's been very hard but after being assessed in September 2021, and dad finally being deemed eligible, we waited for 'the call' everyday in hope a match would be found on time.
The RVH LSG were fantastic to both my parents in assisting them to & from London for assessments & getting 'the call' twice in one week (which was a shock)! My parents stayed nearly 2 weeks away from home for the first time in their life and this alone was difficult. We will be forever grateful for the chance we got and the truly amazing support recieved throughout the journey and still currently post op. Being able to rebuild our family life again has been life changing for us.
You never know when you may need help, and without this support we wouldn't have had the chance. Our charities at home and the amazing staff of the NHS are true superheros.
I would massively appreciate any amount of money to help me on my way!
Thank you.
Shannon 🥰💚.
