As many of you may know I lost both my Granny and my Uncle to this horrible disease. As the fifth leading cause of cancer death in the UK, pancreatic cancer has only a 3% survival rate - this figure has not changed in over 40 years due to a lack of research funding. Only 1% of the UK's research funding is spent on researching pancreatic cancer, so I am therefore taking part in Tough Mudder not only to raise awareness but to help raise funds to improve these astonishingly low figures.
