Our Story
Our little sister Estelle is suffering from Rett Syndrome from around the age of one, at first she was as normal as us but then she began to deteriorate and developed Rett Syndrome. We couldnt ask for a better sister, she is the most loving person i know but it pains us to see her unable to communicate with us properly and not being able to do regualar things a girl at her age would do. Which is why we are fundraising through events such as this walk, to help raise money which will go straight to Retts Syndrome Research Trust UK to fund research for a cure. These girl's lifes dont have to be limited, we can give them the life they fully deserve, so please donate now and keep this research going!!
Shannon: "In Estelle’s best interests I don’t want her to suffer or struggle because that kills me every day to see her having to put so much effort into doing something most ordinary people can fluently do. So that’s why I put all my support into Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK, so girls like Estelle can lead a normal life, God only knows they deserve it!"
Siobhan: " just thinking of the day when Rett Syndrome is cured and our silent angel isn't so silent anymore is an amazing thought that makes me smile. Dreaming of her voice and listening to her tell us how she had to cope with Rett syndrome would help everyone understand how she felt when unable to express her feelings."
Chantelle: "The main thing I dream about, What her voice sounds like? Is it a sweet quiet voice? ... I just can’t remember! but I like to imagine I can hear her sometimes...This is why I'm wanting to take part in the walk this year to hopefully help raise a lot of money to find a cure for Estelle and all of the other Rett girls out there because I can honestly say I know what it feels like to be a sibling of a “Rett Angel” and trust me it’s not easy but seeing Estelle smile makes my day."
