I will be running the London Hallmarks Half Marathon on 29th March, with a goal of raising £750 for Action Medical Research. 

Action Medical Research is the leading UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. Currently funded projects include: research into premature birth, cerebral palsy, childhood infections, juvenile arthritis, leukaemia, epilepsy and much more. Action's research has helped to beat polio in the UK, develop ultrasound, fight meningitis, prevent stillbirths, develop a new epileptic brain-scanning approach to give more children surgery amongst other things. 

Action's research resonates with me because my younger sister has been suffering from seizures for over 2 years. Despite consulting several high profile doctors, only recently was she 'likely' diagnosed as having epilepsy. I believe that current technology and investigative techniques have some limitations in helping doctors to provide conclusive diagnoses to conditions such as epilepsy. Additional investment in medical research is, in my opinion, critical to helping doctors make more effective diagnoses.
