Story

Hope you are well. Thanks for taking the time to click on the link.

You are probably thinking, "What the hell is Shane doing.... running... a half marathon?!? LOL! He's gone crazy!"

Yeah, it's hard to think that me and sustained physical activity would mix, what with me being a man who wouldn't look out of place on a Jacamo advert. But there is a few reasons for me to embark on what will be a very difficult task...

As you may know, my health in the last few months hasn't been the best... I'm falling apart and losing some minor "unimportant" organs along the way with more to come. I have even joked that I should have a private room in Blackpool Victoria what with all the visits recently. It also doesn't help knowing family members have undergone some major procedures and being diagnosed with illnesses. And no thanks to genetics and all the science things inside me, its likely that the same will happen to me. Thank you genetics! So something has to change...

I've decided its time to try and reverse my dwindling health from the poor and ill-informed choices of what I put into my mouth and into my body, expecting a sedentary lifestyle will be OK for me. Need to get my health in check, I don't want the most wonderful and understanding woman on this planet living next to me in a hospital bed :)

The other thing I will be fund raising for children's hospitals. My son Harry was born with a condition that affected him pretty badly at the time. He's as fit as a fiddle now and has come out of the woods ages ago but it could have been much worse. He's been very lucky but there are kids who don't have his luck. During our time in the children's hospital, I viewed some unfortunate children and families, which will stay with me forever.

I've been though some of the worse pain I've ever experience with my illnesses but I can tell someone what the problem is. Some children, especially babies, cannot. My pain is nothing, absolutely nothing, compared to those little ones who can only cry.

My aim is to raise funds for the hospitals that look after them... to help these little people out, people of the future. I get healthier so I can enjoy my future while the funds we raise will go into helping researchers, doctors and nurses help the next generation who have a bit of a troubled start continue to be with their loving family, and then become the world’s next leaders, innovators, thinkers and entrepreneurs.

Hope you can find it in your heart to donate for this cause. I really would appreciate it. There hopefully will be more pages and fun things to come in the future. Thanks again!
