Story
Assalamu Alaikam & Ramadan Kareem 🌙
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.
Over the last 4 years, I have been helping our brothers and sisters in Tanzania through UK based charity Islamic Help. We have provided massive support in respect of food parcels and water supply for orphans. Last year you will recall we set up the Orphan Project in Tanzania in order to make a huge change to the lives of orphans in the long term in order to steer them out of the poverty cycle which has been crushing them for generations.
The Orphan Project
In partnership with Islamic Help, you will recall that last Ramadan, with your generosity and support, we were able to work on a very special project. A project that is very close to my heart – The Orphan Project. ❤️ Thank you to all of you who donated towards our Orphan Project in Tanzania. With your kind donations we raised an exceptional £30,093 in our first year. Alhumdullilah! The initial target was £10,000 and I am so pleased that we smashed that completely!
With your kind donations, the team at Islamic Help have been working tirelessly on our Orphan Project and I’m honestly so pleased to announce that they have enrolled the children at Popatlal English Medium School in Tanga Town, which is one of the most prestigious schools in the district 👌🏽and so far provided 50 orphans with :
1. EDUCATION – a chance to excel in life;
2. SCHOOL SUPPLIES & TRANSPORT - school uniform, stationery, bags, books, transport facilities for travelling to school and home;
3. FOOD - healthy meals at school; and
4. HEALTH INSURANCE - access to private health insurance so they can access free health treatment throughout the year from a private hospital.
To keep the Orphan Project alive, each orphan will need £500 GBP a year, broken down as follows, in order to achieve the following ambitious objectives:
- £250 GBP a year for education/school fee, school uniform, stationery and books and bags; and
- £250 GBP a year for food, transport and health insurance card.
With your help, InShaAllah this year I hope that you can continue to maintain your Orphan Project to ensure our beautiful children continue to gain access to education, transport, food and healthcare. With your support, I am confident that we can achieve and exceed the target of £25,000 InShaAllah which will :
- provide food packs throughout Ramadan for the orphans;
- allow them to continue to gain access to education, transport, food and healthcare; and
- provide a future for more orphans to enrol at Popatlal English Medium School.
You can 100% donate your Zakkat to this project.
I am confident that we can achieve the £25,000 target In'Sha'Allah and exceed it so that we can continue to provide a future for many more orphans in Tanzania. It truly is a long term life changing project.

Orphans have a unique place in Islam and share an affinity with Prophet Muhammad SAW who lost both his parents by the age of six. His orphaned childhood is the subject of some of the earliest verses of the Qur’an:
"Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter?" (Qur’an 93:6)
This affinity between the orphan and the Prophet SAW is expressed with great clarity in the Hadith. There is a promise of Paradise for anyone who looks after an orphan:
"I, and the one who looks after an orphan, will be together like this in the next world", then he raised his index and middle fingers together leaving no space in between." {Saheeh al-Bukhaari-Hadith Muslim}.
Thank you for your donations and support. May Allah SWT reward you immensely and increase your wealth with your kind donations. Ameen.
Lots of love Shaneeq ❤️❤️❤️
