Story
At 23.5 miles and 1,450m of ascent this is going to be a leg-busting walking experience. To put it another way, we will be walking almost a marathon distance and climbing higher than Ben Nevis in under 12 hours. It’s an extremely tough and gruelling day, both physically and mentally, and I, along with the embracent team, will be training hard to be fully prepared for the challenge.
Also wanted to highlight the amazing people at Ashgate Hospice and all the great work they do - every £ donated to me goes directly to them thus making someone's life just a little better at a very difficult time.
Ashgate Hospicecare is a charity that provides compassionate, specialist palliative and end of life care, free of charge, to patients with a life-limiting illness and their families. Their vision is that everyone with a life-limiting illness, and the people important to them, can make the most of every moment together and that they can die with dignity and comfort. 2020 was the most challenging year in the Hospice’s 30 year history, and going into 2021 many fundraising events have been cancelled or postponed. The Coronavirus pandemic has left a £2.4 million hole in their revenue so really every little helps.
This is particularly poignant for me having lost my mum to cancer last year and having seen first hand the difference each and every hospice worker can make to those in their care.
Thanks all for the support!
