Story
Stroke Association is a charity that is very close to my heart. Six years ago, my dad suffered a stroke. I was completely unaware of just how serious/severe a stroke could be until I saw the effects it had on my dad. Every day is a constant battle from helping him with things like, balance, eyesight, mood swings and memory loss.
It has completely changed my dad as a person as he used to be very sociable and outgoing and now, he hardly leaves the house as he has severe anxiety attacks, which has lead to a huge form of depression. Seeing my dad in a shell of his former self is heart breaking everyday. It has made me understand just how much amazing charities such as the Stroke Association do for stroke sufferers and their families.
I am raising money for the Stroke Association by taking part in a charity football game against a football team called Barley Mow Wanderers, who I can't thank enough for agreeing to take part. There are players in the Barley club who have also been affected by stroke in one way or another and I know it is something that is close to them. The game will take place on Sunday 22nd July with kick off being 11:00am. The game will be taking place at Brickbridge Lane, Wombourne, Wolverhampton WV5 0BB. Everyone is welcome to come and watch and also donate to a great cause. If you are unable to make it on the day, there is a chance to donate here, again to such a great cause that helps so many people everyday.
