Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in London to Brighton in September to raise money and awareness for Crohns and Colitis UK. My hope is that the money will help more research be done as little is known as to the causes of this disease and at present there is no cure.

As some of you may know my wife has lived with Ulcerative Colitis for 19 years. Ulcerative Colitis is a condition that causes inflammation and ulceration of the inner lining of the colon and rectum (the large bowel). She has been hospitalised on a few occasions due to the stress and effects the disease has on the body.

Until you spend time with someone who has this disease you really don’t realise how it effects them on a day to day basis. You will see them smiling and pretending like nothing is wrong when in actuality they are in pain and suffering but do everything they can to carry on living a normal life. It’s an invisible disease so as you cannot see it many do not understand it.
